Compete with Skill, Learn through Competition!" – The Century Cup Operator Competition honors the glory of craftsmanship. It is a pinnacle showdown of speed and precision, and a brilliant display of the craftsman's spirit. Century China debuts the "Short-Order King" PK Challenge.

The 2026 Asia-Pacific International Gravure Industry Exhibition and Corrugated & Color Box Packaging Technology Exhibition opened on July 8 at the Qingdao International Expo Center. Among the 100+ top-tier exhibitors, the 2026 Saint Rollin Water-Based Ink & Century Cup Craftsman (Die-Cutting Operator) Challenge, organized by Century Machinery, took center stage, drawing crowds and acclaim as the day's premier event.

A Gathering of Masters: 15 Operators in Intense Competition

On-site, 15 die-cutting operators representing diverse industry companies took the stage together. Ranging from machine calibration and accuracy management to speed trials and output quality – the competition was as much a test of technical prowess as it was a grand showcase of craftsmanship at its finest.

What They Competed On

a. Standardized equipment operation & machine setup proficiency
b. Die-cutting precision control, defect management, and yield rate optimization
c. Efficient workflow pacing and hands-on operational proficiency assessment
d. Workplace safety compliance
e. Independent completion of a full die-cutting cycle to produce 20 finished carton samples

 

How They Were Scored: Contestants were ranked first by total job completion time, with material waste rate used as the deciding factor in case of a tie.

Fair Play Guarantee: Each operator received exclusive machine time prior to the contest, ensuring equal familiarity with the equipment, materials, and workspace. All machines were reset to baseline settings before the official runs began.

That evening, the Jinnuo Beer Festival, a concurrent event of the exhibition, commenced with great fanfare. Before an audience of several hundred industry professionals, the winning operators stepped onto the stage in succession to accept their awards. Amid resounding applause and cheers, the honor was shared not just by the recipients, but by every printing and packaging artisan who remains committed to mastery and the relentless pursuit of excellence.
